Justin Sun Suffers Health Setback, Reschedules Lunch with Warren Buffett

Readers may recall that Justin Sun won a prized lunch date with investing legend Warren Buffett earlier this year, bidding a record $4.57 million at a charity auction.

Warren Buffett’s Tron Summit Postponed

Hoping to educate Buffett on the miracle of blockchain technology, Sun invited other leaders in the cryptocurrency community to join him.

Notably, Circle’s Jeremy Allaire and Litecoin creator Charlie Lee have accepted the invitation. Binance’s CEO Changpeng Zhao declined.

However, all three gentlemen will have to wait a while yet for the so-called “crypto power lunch,” as Justin Sun reportedly just got out of the hospital over some kidney stones.

He first told his Weibo followers in native Chinese.

According to Dovey Wan, Sun said, in part:

“I was in the hospital for sudden kidney stones, and I canceled the lunch with Mr. Buffett.”

He goes on to say that his health is currently fine.

The situation was confirmed by the Tron Foundation on Twitter and later by Bloomberg.

According to Bloomberg, Buffett has agreed to reschedule the meeting.

The highly visible world of Justin Sun and Tron frequently has mishaps like this. The last episode involved a mix-up with some Teslas that Sun was supposed to give away. The flamboyant community leader also offered to give Binance 7,000 bitcoin after it was hacked.

Another Tron Event Doesn’t Go According to Plan

A lightning rod for criticism from what one might call “traditional” sectors of the crypto industry, Sun answered “tough,” direct questions from CoinDesk’s Pete Rizzo earlier this year in the following video.

Sun currently has a banner promoting his auction victory as the header of his Twitter profile.

Warren Buffett is a well-known crypto skeptic, famous for being wrong on some other big things such as Google.

Known as the “Oracle of Omaha” for his ability to predict macro trading patterns and the influence he wields over Wall Street, Buffett has lodged basic criticisms of cryptocurrency, including calling it “an asset that creates nothing.”

Sun, Allaire, and Lee all hope to change the billionaire’s mind. At an undetermined date in the near future, we’ll see if they succeed or not.
